Fashion and Ladies Golf Attire

I was reading one of those ‘Golfing for Women’ magazines the other day and started wondering where the women live, who wear the golf attire modeled in women’s golfing magazines? I’ve never seen women, not even the professionals, who would wear such expensive and outrageous clothes.

It’s easy to spend money fitting yourself out for golf: hats, sunglasses, gloves, shirts, shorts, socks, windbreakers and shoes all add up quickly, even if you shop at the sales. Then add in equipment, bag and cart and you have to play quite often to keep the “CPU” – cost per use down to an acceptable level.

One half-page glossy advertisement showed a beautiful young ‘golfing lady’ in very tiny hot-pants (like that’s permitted on golfing greens!) that cost nearly $300, a golf shirt at almost $600, a jacket by Ralph Lauren at almost $200 and two-toned Utuser shoes costing $400 plus.

That adds up to almost $1,500! I know that I could never hope to get the CPU on that outfit down to anywhere near a normal limit in my lifetime! Don’t get me wrong – I love clothes and I really love shoes, but could never afford, or even want, golf shoes or pants that cost more than most people’s weekly wage.

Granted, you need comfy golf shoes that don’t look like something your grandmother would have worn, but you can easily find less expensive and still fashionable shoes.

I have several very trendy golfing outfits, although none of them are brand names. If I totalled up the cost of all of them, it would not come to the price of a Tse golf shirt. Personally, I’d rather have several stylish outfits than one outrageously priced one.

If I were to wear a $1,500 set of golfing attire to play golf in, I would just be too worried about getting it dirty or perspiring in it to enjoy a decent game of golf.

Information On Booking A Golf Holiday

Golf holidays are a fantastic way of merging the two great pastimes of golf and holidays. Golf is probably one of the most relaxing sports there is and mixing a few minutes of swinging with tranquil walks in some of the most beautiful scenery there is can almost seem like you are having too much fun!

So, you are thinking of treating yourself to a golfing holiday; below is a detailed list of the most important things you need to bear in mind before you head to the travel agent.

Budget – First of all you need to work out exactly how much you want to spend on a holiday in total, including all spending money, travel expenses, accommodation bills, travel insurance and food. You budget will also dictate, to some degree, where you want to take your holiday as some places can be much more expensive than others. Make sure you spend some time looking through local and national newspapers, golfing magazines and online for special offers and promotions so that you can make the most from your money.

Location – Not only do you need to decide whether you want to play golf in the cool, rural highlands of Scotland, or the warm, picture perfect resorts in Florida; you also need to decide on a particular resort within that general location. For this you need to consider your personal enthusiasm for the game. For budding amateurs, a full on, 5 star, professional golfing resort may be a little too much, in every sense, so you may want to consider going to an area that can offer other activities just in case you get bored. Co-currently, if you are a seasoned pro then it is expected that only the best courses will do, but bear in mind the prices will reflect this.

The next step for your holiday arrangements is to make a list of all the resorts within the locations that you want to go to, that can offer you all that you require from your holiday in terms of facilities, accommodation, and other amenities. After you have made a list, go through each resort, calling each one to seek information on the precise details that each package offers. Any missed information here could end up costing a large amount later on, possibly ruining your prospected budget.

In summary, it pays to do your homework. If you are not going alone, you need to discuss with your party exactly what you want from your golfing holiday and whether you would prefer access to other activities. Once everything is organized properly, you can just relax and concentrate on improving your putting skills.

Getting The Most From Golfing Lessons

It has never easy asking for help, but in golf, it is almost a necessity. Unfortunately, we often ask our friends and partners, when in reality we should take a lesson or two with a professional, usually called the Club Pro.

We may think that a Pro would criticize too harshly, but they are honest, positive and usually very helpful.

Golf lessons at the local golf course aren’t as expensive as you probably think and they are worth it too, because your game will improve more rapidly and cause you less frustration, making the game much more enjoyable for you.

It is of utmost importance to be absolutely honest about your game. The Pro will ask you what you think you need to start with: driving, chipping, putting or whatever you think you need help with.

Listen to the Pro golfer very carefully and follow the Pro’s instructions. You may have doubts if the Pro changes your stance, your grip or your swing, but honestly, the Pro does know what is best.

Please don’t hesitate to ask the Pro golfer any questions you may have and don’t worry about whether your question or concern may sound silly – they’ve been asked it all before and will not make you feel like an idiot for inquiring. If you don’t understand, tell the Pro that you do not get it. You should never leave a lesson with unposed questions.

For example, a strategy might be to concentrate on one thing during a lesson, or on several. You might start with a lesson on driving; get the right grip, the right stance, the right swing, the right follow-through in one lesson, and then practice it for a few weeks until you feel that you’ve got it right. Next time, you might want to work on your short game, or putting.

You’ve invested in the set of golf clubs and it isn’t cheap, is it? So, it doesn’t make sense not to learn how to use it to it’s best advantage thereby improving your game and abilities, does it?

About Nike Golf Shoes

Nike golf shoes are one of the things you can use to improve your game. If you have only played golf in casual footwear before, or if you’re looking for a way to improve your general game, investing in a good pair of golf shoes can make a large difference. Like in other sports, the shoes you wear can directly impact on your game.

As you have to have a smooth swing and be able to follow through on your swing in golf, all without losing control of the strength of your swing, your golf shoes can help or hinder your game. Nike golf shoes are designed to help you balance, gripping the turf as much as necessary and letting you get full strength and control behind each swing.

Since these golf shoes have special compartments in the heels, every step is easier to make. They offer the level of support your feet, legs and knees require in order to play golf very comfortably over long periods of time.

Since golf very often means a great deal of walking, Nike golf shoes have been made like a blend of walking shoe and golf shoe. They cushion the joints of your legs and knees against the impact from each step you take, allowing you to concentrate your strength and effort on your game of golf, rather than on how you are going to get to the next hole or to wherever it is that your ball has landed.

When you go to buy Nike golf shoes, there are several things that you should keep in mind. The first thing you need to consider is what level of skill you have achieved. Golf, like many other sports, has gear that can be used by beginners or advanced professionals alike.

In most cases, novices pick the Nike golf shoes suited for professionals, but rarely end up finding the full potential of the shoe, as they do not know how to get the most out of the shoes.

While professionals definitely do get fantastic use out of these Nike golf shoes, it is often better for novices to purchase entry level Nike golf shoes which will better suit their needs. The increase in power given to your stroke would usually be lost on those who are novices, as they do not yet possess the requisite skill to control the stroke as much as they would need to.

Therefore, it is best to purchase the Nike golf shoes that suit your level of skill, since these shoes will have the comfort and features you require. You can buy Nike golf shoes from a number of sources. For those who want cheaper shoes yet still require the quality of the professional shoes, you can buy last year’s shoes from Nike outlet centers.

If you only want to wear top of the range Nike golf shoes, you can buy from online Nike stockists or through a number of online retail vendors (see below).

Retirement Gifts For Golfers

There is a commonly held belief that golf is the pastime-cum-sport of well-off entrepreneurs and businessmen. It is also perceived as being an elite sport and not easily accessible to ordinary blue collared employees. However, this is not really true as modernization and commercialization have brought these so-called posh sports into the reach of ordinary workers.

This is because there is no need to acquire sophisticated equipment to have a game. Unlike big game fishing and polo which need a lot of resources eg a boat or a horse respectively, golfers just require a set of golf clubs, which are reasonably affordable. With this in mind, retirement gifts for golfers and aspiring golfers are easily thought of.

Making personalized retirement gifts for golfers is quite an easy task as you could easily personalize golfing equipment with items such as home made golf club pouches, and caddy covers. These can be made by knitting (that is if you are into knitting) or any other handicraft requiring other materials.

You could think about golfing fashion by concentrating on the attire worn by golfers. You could even end up starting a new trend in golfing clothing by the using your imagination regarding the design of the apparel for your retiree.

The most usual method of getting a retirement gift for golfers is to go to the nearest sports shop and get your retiree something they sell there. It may sound a little impersonal, but then this may prove really useful, if the retiree is still a novice golfer. Perhaps you could get a book on golfing, a subscription to a golfing magazine or a box of personalized golf balls.

However, you could find out what your retiree golfer still needs, and perhaps also use your imagination to think about in what ways you can enhance the golfing equipment he may already have.

Commercially made golfing equipment is always a safe bet. If you want to make your retiree feel great, buy him or her a famous-name set of golf clubs, thereby making him feel like a professional.

You could even go to a joke shop and ask if they have any joke items for the golfer there. They probably do, as golfing is such a popular sport.

Gag gifts should be chosen quite carefully since they may raise sensitive issues for the retiree, especially if he is a novice golfer. Gags as gifts in relation to golfing can be taken the wrong way and put someone off, if they are upset by the idea implied by the gag or joke you gave them.

As for veteran players who are already well adapted to the game and other golfers’ sense of humour, the gift of a good gag on their retirement day would be quite funny since they would already see golfing not only as a way to relieve stress, but also to actually have some fun in a competitive environment.

Retirement gifts for golfers are really just an easy way to help your golfing retiree friend enjoy life after his career has finished.
